The city of Paris is served by two international airports - Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), which is situated 23 kilometres / 14 miles to the north of Paris (approximate journey time 45 minutes), and Paris Orly Airport (ORY) which is situated 14 kilometres / 9 miles south of the city (approximate journey time 35 minutes).

This is France's largest airport, with extensive international airline facilities and ground transport into the city centre. Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport is situated north-east of Paris and handles over 200,000 passengers every day.

Charles de Gaulle Airport By Car - Paris, France
The easiest way to drive into central Paris is by the A1 motorway or the A3 motorway. Depending on traffic, the journey should take around 40 minutes.

Charles de Gaulle Airport By Train - Paris, France
This airport was one of the first in Europe to have an integrated train system and the RER rapid TGV train service travels to the centre of Paris in just 40 minutes. Euro Disney is only 10 minutes away and Brussels can be reached in an hour. Trains depart every 15 minutes, more frequent during peak times. Line B runs from the station at Terminal 2 to the Gare du Nord station, with good connections to the Metro underground system.

Charles de Gaulle Airport By Bus - Paris, France
Regular bus services run every 10 minutes by Air France, between 05:50 to 23:00. They run from Place Charles de Gaulle, via Port Maillot to Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport Terminals 1 and 2 and the journey takes around 40 minutes. Roissybus operates a service between the airport terminals of Charles de Gaulle Airport and the Opera district of central Paris. This service runs every 15 minutes between 06:00 and 22:30 taking about 45 minutes.

There are also additional services running from Montparnasse, via Gare de Lyon to Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport between 07:00 and 21:30 and the journey lasts approximately 50 minutes.

Taxis are readily available outside the terminals and a taxi journey from Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport to central Paris will last about 45 minutes, depending on traffic. There are also chauffeur-driven limousines available for hire.

Orly is one of Europe's busiest airports, with free shuttle buses operating between its two terminals, is conveniently served by its own rail station and is connected to both RER Lines B and C which take you to the heart of the city.

Orly Airport By Car - Paris, France
Orly airport is located close to the centre of Paris and the easiest way to drive into the city is by the A6 motorway. Depending on traffic, the jouney should take around 25 minutes.

Orly Airport By Train - Paris, France
There is a fast rail service available called the Orlyval and this runs between both terminals. It has several stops in the airport and links up to the RER B railway line at the St. Antony station, where services run to the city centre. The journey to the Gare du Nord in central Paris last about 30 minutes. There is also a combined bus and rail service that connects with the RER C railway line.

Orly Airport By Bus - Paris, France
There are several scheduled bus services that connect the airport with the Paris city centre. Air France Coache Line 1 stops at the Air France Terminal in Invalides, and to the south of the centre in Montparnasse and the journey lasts about 35 minutes. The Orlybus service travels to south central Paris in the Place Denfert-Rochereau and the journey takes about 25 minutes. The Jetbus service links to the terminus station for the Paris Metro Line 7, and a journey to the metro station takes around 15 minutes.

Taxis are readily available outside the terminals and a taxi journey from Orly Airport to central Paris will last about 25 minutes, depending on traffic.

Paris Airport Customs and Duties - Paris, France
Clearing customs at major gateway airports is a fairly quick and easy procedure. The duty-free allowances have now been abolished for those travelling between countries in the European Union (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom - but not the Channel Islands or Gibraltar). For goods purchased outside the EU, you may only import a strictly limited amount of these duty-free items.
